My client is looking for a HR Director for a Luxurious New Hotel!!

My client prides themselves on each hotel is a landmark that’s as individual as its surrounding, so this new hotel in Shanghai will be no different!

The hotel is scheduled to open on 1 January 2018, the handover of the building is scheduled for 1 October 2017. 

Pre-opening activities may be conducted within 18 months of the pre-opening date. 

We are looking for someone who has experience working in 5 Star hotels,  

English and Chinese speaking is essential

The Role:

Responsible for establishing and maintaining a hierarchy and structure
Ensure HR plans support the needs of the business but are also flexible enough to cope with changes in the organisation, as and when they occur
Provide advice on and administer maternity and paternity leave cases. Responsible for resource planning for maternity re-joiners
Ensure all staff receive appraisals in accordance with company policy and monitor probationary periods
Deal with any performance or grievance issues in a legally compliant and professional way
Ensure all policies and procedures are up to date and legally compliant.
Provide day to day advice to line managers on all human resource issues: management of staff, remuneration, etc.

The Person:

Previously influenced senior managers, built strong commercial relationships and driven an HR strategy
Can quickly establish credibility and respect and build strong working relationships with department managers. Demonstrable maturity, professionalism and gravitas
Ability to recognise the value and responsibility of working in a team, actively supports and develops team members, quick to identify and problem solve any issues
Experience in similar position with a large corporate or privately owned business in GCC
Worked with business of across multiple countries and difference Labour Laws
Strong working knowledge of multiple employment law issues and the ability to apply these to a variety of situations using a pragmatic and common sense approach
Demonstrates passion - approaches all tasks in an enthusiastic way. Committed to upholding professional standards
Capable communication skills - handles complex and difficult situations
